| Day at the Track – Saturday, August 16, 2008 | ||||||
|
We are going to the track for an afternoon of time trial events. We have special permission to use both road and track bikes on the track. This is a rare opportunity to check out the facility without the investment of a track bike. For those with track bikes, you will not be on the track at the same time as the road bikes. All events will be run separately. It should be really fun. Test yourself, prepare for nationals, get a taste for the track. It’s all about opportunity. Venue: The Hellyer Park Velodrome, located in San Jose, California, has just been renovated. It is now one of the premier tracks in the country and will be hosting Masters Track Nationals the first week of September. Please support our efforts and take advantage of this incredible opportunity. The schedule:
Please note: trainers and rollers are incredibly useful at the track. Bring them along if you have one. For those with track bikes, bringing a road bike to leave on the trainer makes life a lot easier. There is plenty of infield to leave it set up all day. Events:
How it works: Link to BikeReg.com to register. The fee is $25. $5 of each entry goes to the track to cover the track expenses and insurance. $2.80 of each entry goes to BikeReg. The rest goes to the Lance Armstrong Foundation. You can register for as many events as you want, however you can only do each event once. Two riders will be on the track at the same time, starting on opposite sides of the track. We will have timers, holders, lap cards, and bell ringers. It is what we call “The real deal." Questions:
